More Than A Weekend Of Fighting
Knights & Legends 2027 will take place on 22–23 May, bringing two days of HEMA competition to one of Serbia’s most impressive historical settings — the magnificent Smederevo Fortress.
Held as part of a large medieval festival, Knights & Legends is more than a weekend of tournament fighting. Competitors step into the arena in front of a festival audience, surrounded by medieval camps, performers, craftsmen and visitors exploring one of the largest fortresses in Europe.
Three Categories
For 2027, fighters will compete in three categories:
- Open Longsword Mixed
- Open Ladies Longsword
- Open Single Sword Mixed — Arming Sword, Saber & Sidesword
The Single Sword category brings different weapons and fencing traditions into the same competition, challenging fighters to adapt to opponents who may be carrying something very different from their own weapon.
And we may have a few new ideas for 2027…
